Over 250 Patients Screened, Around 01 Lakh Spent on Medical Diagnostics, Medicines
JKYF-TCT-KLL Organises Free Health Screening Cum Medical Camp at BAITUL HILAL, Jawahar Nagar

Over 250 patients were screened and about one lakh expended on medical diagnostics and medicines during day long Free Health Screening Cum Medical Camp for the flood affected people of Srinagar and Budgam at BAITUL HILAL, Jawahar Nagar, here on November 2nd, Sunday. The camp was a part of Health Screening & Medical Camp Series, of J&K Yateem Foundation in collaboration with Taumm Charitable Trust and Kashmir Life Line & Health Centre.

Senior immunologist & former Professor SKIMS Dr (Prof) Mushtaq A. Siddiqi supervised the Health Screening Camp while senior Child Specialist & former HoD Neonatology SKIMS Dr (Prof) Masood ul Hassan supervised the medical camp. During the camp, the diagnostic facilities were provided involving an expenditure to the tune of about Rs 80,000 whileas medicines amounting to about Rs 20, 000, were distributed among flood affected patients.

Around 130 women and 60 children were among 258 patients checked up and on spot Blood Sugar & Haemoglobin screening was undertaken which diagnosed as many as 11 patients for Diabetes. The blood samples were collected on spot which will be investigated at Al-Hilal Diagnostic Centre, a non-profit Unit of J&K Yateem Foundation. Three female gynaecologist and physicians checked up patients during the day long camp. The patients also availed services of psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and mental health counsellors from GMC Srinagar and NGO Kashmir Life Line.
