Yateem Foundation dedicates BAIT UL HILAL Orphanage to People at Kulgam

Speakers Call for Reservations for Orphans, Focus on Making Functioning of Social Organizations Transparent

The speakers at inaugural function of Baitu-ul Hilal (Hostel) constructed at an estimated cost of over 1.07 crores at Chawalgam Kulgam on Saturday May 11, 2013 called for reservations for orphans in educational, technical & professional institutions on the pattern of SCs/STs and other backward classes so that they could avail the opportunities for better future. The speakers also stressed the need to create partnerships among credible social service organizations besides making the assets and the constitution public for ensuring transparency and upholding public trust.

Speaking at a seminar titled 'Sufferings of Orphans & their Rehabilitation-Our Response' as part of the inaugural function, Chief Guest Justice (Retd) Bashir A. Kirmani in his speech urged upon the people to come forward for taking care of orphans, widows & destitute. He said our callous attitude towards these underprivileged section of our community would prove detrimental for our social fabric which may lead to increase in crimes, delinquencies and social dishamony.

Guest of honour, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Mir Jehangir in his speech emphasized that the society must embrace these orphans and shower love and affection upon them which is more valuable than mere material support. He assured his all support & cooperation for the welfare of orphans in making their lives better & dignified.

Dr Bashir A Nehvi, Professor Iqbal Institute of Culture & Philosophy, Kashmir University termed orphans as valuable asset of our nation. He, in the light of Qura'n & Sunnah, called for fulfilling responsibilities towards the welfare & rehabilitation of orphans & other destitute.

Chairman Mohammad Rafiq Lone in his inaugural speech pleaded for extending support & cooperation for taking forward the cause of orphans, widows & destitute.

Er. Syed Abdul Hamid, Patron in his presidential address presented overview of JKYF's welfare & rehabilitation programmes. He reiterated his commitment for transparency & accountability vis a vis functioning of the Foundation.

On the occasion, JKYF Tarana (Anthem) authored by Rafiq Tahir Kawchaki and sung by Waheed Jeelani, was presented.

Earlier, the Chief Guest & Guests of Honor inaugurated the photo exhibition titled 'Together for Orphans, Widows & Destitute' highlighting the Foundation's welfare & rehabilitation programmes. .

A galaxy of guests from Kishtwar, Doda, Bhaderwah, Uri, Kupwara & other parts of the State attended the function.

Before conclusion, Dua Majlis was led by Muneer Ahmad Dar, Financial Controller, JKYF .
